in Canada.

2026 Β· National income tax guide

The calculation, explained.

The 2026 federal taxable-income schedule uses five bands from 14% to 33%.

Provincial/territorial income tax, Quebec abatement, basic personal and employment tax credits, CPP/QPP and EI are excluded. Federal tax alone is not total Canadian income tax; use taxable income after eligible deductions.

Doctors: employment and independent practice

The Canada comparison is an ordinary resident employment scenario. We have not yet verified a doctor-specific independent-practice regime for this country. Do not apply Indonesia’s NPPN 50% here or enter clinic turnover as salary. Practice deductions, professional contributions and mixed income require additional local research.

Tax brackets Β· CAD

Each rate applies only to the income inside that band.
