🇱🇸 How tax works
in Lesotho.

2026/27 (from 1 Apr 2026) · National income tax guide

The calculation, explained.

RSL resident individual schedule: 20% on the first LSL 77,760 of chargeable income and 30% on the excess (Legal Notice No. 24 of 2026).

A non-refundable tax credit of LSL 12,240/year (LSL 1,020/month) reduces computed tax and is not modeled as an allowance. Non-residents generally face a flat 25% without the credit.

Doctors: employment and independent practice

The Lesotho comparison is an ordinary resident employment scenario. We have not yet verified a doctor-specific independent-practice regime for this country. Do not apply Indonesia’s NPPN 50% here or enter clinic turnover as salary. Practice deductions, professional contributions and mixed income require additional local research.
