The calculation, explained.
MRA employment PAYE: first MWK 2,040,000 at 0%; next MWK 16,800,000 at 30%; next MWK 101,160,000 at 35%; excess over MWK 120,000,000 at 40%.
Distinct from the non-employment personal income table in the same notice. Monthly equivalents are MWK 170,000 / 1,570,000 / 10,000,000.
Doctors: employment and independent practice
The Malawi comparison is an ordinary resident employment scenario. We have not yet verified a doctor-specific independent-practice regime for this country. Do not apply Indonesia’s NPPN 50% here or enter clinic turnover as salary. Practice deductions, professional contributions and mixed income require additional local research.
