🇭🇷 How tax works
in Croatia.
2026 · Income tax guide
The calculation, explained.
Default annual employment rates of 20% up to EUR60,000 of tax base and 30% above apply when the municipality/city does not elect other rates; gross mode applies the EUR7,200 basic personal allowance (EUR600 × 12).
Locally chosen rates within statutory ranges, dependent allowances, the 20% employee pension contribution deduction from the tax base, youth relief and returnee relief are excluded.
Doctors: employment and independent practice
The Croatia comparison is an ordinary resident employment scenario. We have not yet verified a doctor-specific independent-practice regime for this country. Do not apply Indonesia’s NPPN 50% here or enter clinic turnover as salary. Practice deductions, professional contributions and mixed income require additional local research.
Tax brackets · EUR
Each rate applies only to the income inside that band.
