🇲🇲 How tax works
in Myanmar.

UTL 2026 (FY from 1 Apr 2026) · National income tax guide

The calculation, explained.

Union Taxation Law 2026 §19(c): progressive rates 0/5/10/15/20/25% on remaining income after Income Tax Law allowances. Annual salary ≤ MMK 4.8 million is fully exempt.

Personal relief (20% of income capped at MMK 10m) and dependent allowances are excluded. Figures from English convenience translation of UTL 2026.

Doctors: employment and independent practice

The Myanmar comparison is an ordinary resident employment scenario. We have not yet verified a doctor-specific independent-practice regime for this country. Do not apply Indonesia’s NPPN 50% here or enter clinic turnover as salary. Practice deductions, professional contributions and mixed income require additional local research.

Tax brackets · MMK

Each rate applies only to the income inside that band.
